University of Copenhagen
The Agricultural University at Frederiksberg where establishmened in 1858. Apart from veterinary science, the university was to teach in agriculture, horticulture and forestry.
The former Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University has in 2007 merged with the University of Copenhagen and it is now a faculty under the University of Copenhagen. The name of the newly established faculty is Faculty of Life Sciences (LIFE).
The disciplines at LIFE covers: Veterinary Medicine, Agricultural Science, Agricultural Economics, Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Development Studies, Food and Nutrition, Forestry and Environmental Sciences
To internationalize the research conducted and the atmosphere of the study environment has always been one of the goals of the old Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University and it is continuously as highly prioritized.
“To internationalize is to be exposed to cultures and norms which differ from one's own. Through this exposure greater knowledge, insight and understanding is gained. Over the last 10 years, the Faculty of Life Sciences has worked systematically with internationalization of education, degrees and research. The goal is to ensure that we remain an internationally competitive university which is attractive to potential students, produces qualified graduates and attracts research funding.” www.life.ku.dk
Location
The University of Copenhagen is located in the capital of Denmark and the city is always full of life and happenings.
The campus area of the Faculty of Life Sciences is situated near the Copenhagen city center and the campus area includes both old and new buildings as well as a beautiful old garden from 1857, which is often used by the students.
